    Did everyone catch this?

    What’s happening with Dodgem Logic at the moment is that with issue eight, which will be the next one to come out - a little bit later than normal, we’re sending it to print the middle of next month – issue eight will be the last issue for a while. This is because Dodgem Logic has been entirely funded with my money, and we have not yet managed to break even....

    Yeah. I've got to admit, I only bought the first few issues, and laziness, forgetfulness and headaches from some of the layouts stopped me from getting any more. I feel bad about that. I'd like to think that Dodgem Logic, or something like it, would still be viable.

    Funny, really: I was thinking about magazines either before or at the same time as both Alan and Mark. I decided I didn't have the time or money because I'm still a writer first and anything that stopped me writing was going to make me sad or angry in the end. It's been weird, watching them take two of the paths I envisioned.

    I stopped buying it due to a petty personal issue with one of the contributors whose name I didn't want to be in anything I owned. Shame, but still.

    The problem with it was that it tried to work in the spirit and style of an underground zine but with the budget of a glossy. That was always going to be a bit of a money sink really. It's no big surprise that it didn't last, although it probably would have been okay with even a few pages of ads. But that's Alan. I suppose it lasted longer than Egomania though (anyone else remember that?).

    Well, this news is very depressing for someone who loved the magazine for the writing alone. It seemed as if every contributing writer was a master of the craft. It's hard to find a mag with the same caliber of wordsmiths filling each and every issue.

    I did buy it but i can't understand his accent, it's so damn frustrating (i'm a frog myself)...
    Just an idea, if you want to trade it with me, anything but money you'll think it worth the deal would be fine with me...

    Allright, i'll keep it then, that's the problem with learning english from american fiction, you're not able to understand properly any UK resident...

    To say a word about dodgem, i bought the first 2 issues and stopped for the same reasons you explained, i liked the concept though and it's sad that a project that Mr Moore's believe in had to stop this way.
    If i was Mr Gibbons i think i'll offer to put a little bit of the watchmen movie money in it without telling Moore who would refused it if he knew where the money came from^^

    I was a good boy and pre-ordered it. To be cruel but fair, that pretty much traded off the Alan Moore link too. His face was on the front of the first issue and there was a giant interview with him filling most of it and a load of stuff about the moon and serpent stuff.

    I think you already discovered the best way to do both - publisher/editor/writer extrodinaire of a Magazine called WARREN ELLIS DOT COM , and you don't even have to pay you're contributors!!!

    maybe not literally but it serves very much the same purpose; creating, expunging, & sharing information in an attempt to enlighten the reader (you know like Seventeen & Vogue do) anyhow I actually came back because I wanted to edit in that promotion for content is payment in full and obviously more sustainable when the cheques don't have to fly. I heard somewhere that Alan Moore and Tarzan are probably the last people on earth to own a modern computer, it might actually be holding him back ( not that I wouldn't be terrified to see him unleashed if he's currently "being held back")

    I don't think Alan Moore is being held back by a small internet presence anymore than a pencil is held back by a lack of bluetooth connectivity.

    I'm curious to watch the artifictization of copies of Dodgem Logic, as intact copies dwindle in number. It's not a new observation that in the age of everything being available online, something which is not becomes an almost fetishistic object - Alan Moore's reputation, and that of DL's contributors, can only add to that.

    I bought them all, but then I live in Northampton and the magazine increasingly became about my town. I'm also friends with a few of the contributors but that's by the by. I think it was a brave move and one that helped a few people out of a hole, as well as piquing my - and I presume others' - interest in a lot of obscure subjects. I think it'll be back at some point, in some form, but I salute a magazine that has room for Josie Long, Michael Moorcock, Robin Ince, and Stewart Lee, as well as articles on walking to Rome, the legacy of Charles Bradlaugh, and extreme needlework.

    I had the first six issues mailed to me in Vancouver. The Steve Aylett pieces and Astounding Weird Penises justified the entire effort for me. If memory serves there were also helpful things about gardening, and overthrowing consensus reality and the government. Long live Dodgem Logic in whatever form it might take.

    Sad news. I've picked them all up. I haven't finished them all, but I like what I've read.

    My favorite quote from the interview:
