No pen-portraits. This is ART ONLY. Posting just a bunch of text, or a scribble and a vast number of words, will get the thread closed and your account banned.

NO MORE PHOTO-MANIPULATION "art". I'll just delete them. People have been drenching recent threads with several pieces at a time that they've knocked out in photoshop in 2 minutes with no thought at all. I consider this to be taking the piss.

    I will allow original photography.

No more than ONE submission by any one person in any one REMAKE/REMODEL.

    * * * * *

So we here at Whitechapel were going to be involved in a multiple-website remake/remodel-Project-Rooftop type thing for Aquaman. For some reason, this didn't pan out the way it was supposed to. Possibly I lost track of things, I don't know.

But the idea still amuses me. However, I think it needs that extra little twist.

    So your INSTRUCTIONS are:

Design a publicity poster for an adaptation of the DC Comics property AQUAMAN -- for HBO. HBO is the home of DEADWOOD, THE WIRE, THE SOPRANOS, ROME, BOARDWALK EMPIRE, you know the score... and therefore you know their stable of showrunners, people like David Simon and David Milch... and the sort of material they do.

    The HBO version of AQUAMAN.

That's it. You have one week. Begin.

There is an existing wafer-thin actual HBO/Aquaman connection: the (rare not-so-good) HBO-show ENTOURAGE had an entire season-plus devoted to it's protagonist starring in an Aquaman movie...
  3.  (9795.8)
Tim Bishop: Yeah, I was thinking that, too. I don't watch Entourage, but I skimmed a few back then to see what they were doing with the Aquaman stuff; I only ever caught one scene of the "movie", which was the main guy on a pier seeing some threat and diving into the ocean. And there might have been a scene (which I may have imagined...) where James Cameron is telling the main guy that they're going to shoot the entire movie in the actual ocean and so he'll have to learn to breath in the water...

Anyway, hoping to get time to do this one, this week.

@hey apathy...sweet start. I especially like the fact that you strayed away from the comic book source.
hopefuly, should have something done tonight or tomorrow once I get my stuff together.

Pia, I'd make a point of watching the show based on that poster alone. Hotdamn.

I'm having a time out until I can learn some manners.
    ill keep it short,

    here is my entry<img src="" alt="aquaman" />

@Hey Apathy - That's brilliant. Any drawing with Larry David watching an undead, cross-dressing Christopher Lloyd shimmy on podium gets my approval.
@Pia - Wow. That art is great. Good taglines too.
    This is exciting!

@ Pia; I would turn in every week just so I could see all the promo work between seasons!

Here's my take. Breakfast of champions. A little too much bubbles, me think.

@mojokingbee sure are a lot of bubbles. I like the concept though.
