    Evening all,
    This is my first post on the remake/remodel thread - and I have to admit that I had never heard of Aquaman before this. In fact my experience of comics is really limited. I've read Mort Cinder (Argentine graphic novel - the art is spectacular), Watchmen, a bit of Y and more recently discovered Transmetropolitan and Freakangels. I've never read a "superhero" comic, mainly because I find the universes so initially complicated and the characters so variable (from what i've seen I can't equate Justice League Batman with Year One Batman) Could anyone recommend a starting point - I'd really appreciate any suggestions.

    Thanks for all the good words people. Lots of great entries here, nice spread of concepts as well.
    The wife and I just got done watching the entire "The Tudors" series, and I was amused at how screwable they kept Henry all the way to the end of the series, washboard abs and all. If it works there...
    And "scrumptious, lickable Aquaman" is my phrase of the day, thanks Raz!

    Interestingly enough, Aquaman had an octupus buddy/sidekick/mascot in the comics whose name was ... I forget but it was pretty stupid. In cartoons, he rode a sea-horse. And where's Aqualad, everybody? Further trivia note, before Warren atomizes me - Aquaman's baby died at the hands of Black Manta and Mera (his wife) never forgave him.
