My friend and I do a Music Podcast here in New York:
We try putting up music from independent record lables or Local Artist that need some airplay. Basically we drink and make fun of eachother while listening to allot of Rock & Roll, Punk, or whatever we feel like listening to at the time of recording.
If you have or know of any bands that is looking for some airtime and more exposure, email the show at elvisalfredshow@gmail.com
You lot must have heard of Pseudopod (for horror) and it's sisters Escape Pod (SF) and PodCastle (fantasy). Pseudopod is the one cast that stays with me whenever I do a clearout.
A while back I was searching for a good comics podcast but to no avail... I wanted something like a comics-centric The Sound of Young America (which features interviews with cartoonists but not as often as one would hope!)
I do a super irregular, sort of casual podcast, interviewing friends and people I find interesting. I co-hosted with a friend for a while. Interviewed Gary Hart, Eddie Gries, and Lord James Blears from the wrestling world. I interviewed Mark Frauenfelder from boingboing Harry Knowles from Ain't It Cool News James Greene wrote a book on Forrest J Ackerman's sci-fi and horror memorabilia collection. Emerson Calls....
Some talented and occasionally coherent friends from Winchester , Hampshire have started podcasting , based mostly on confusing and interesting music. A prodigous start!
I listen to WTF - What The Fuck with Marc Maron and I recently started to listen to Risk - a podcast that invites various personalities to tell true stories about things that have happened to them.
I am part of a pretty conventional Film Podcast called The Flicksation Podcast. (I didn't name it!) It is bi or tri weekly. We discuss 2-3 new releases, some film news, give a themed dvd pick and then make mention of anything else old or new we have seen of late. We aren't film scholars, but I have a great time recording them. The tastes of the hosts vary, with me being the least "mainstream" of the bunch I'd say. You can check it out at www.flicksation.com or search it in the iTunes store.
I listen to a ton of podcasts, my favorites being Filmspotting ( a more pretentious version of my podcast) and the audio version of Real Time with Bill Maher, since I do not have HBO
used to podcast back in the day before my life got in the way. Clash of the Queues was my movie discussion podcast where we discussed movies available on the internet, mostly via Netflix The Veterans of a Thousand Midnights was where my gaming group would post it's gaming sessions but +4 hour sessions are not fun to podcastitize
I guess my biggest issue with podcasting was that there was always an error, whether in recording or processing, that made it extremely frustrating to do.
Currently I listen to:
Battleship Pretension Kevin Pollak's Chat Show The Criterion Cast The /Filmcast The Dungeon's and Dragons Podcast RPPR Actual Play The Unspeakable Oath The Unspeakable Oath Actual Play YSDC: Public Podcasts YSDC: Patron Podcasts HPPodcraft.com - The H.P. Lovecraft Literary Podcast PC Gamer >> US Podcast Put This On
Wow, after looking at all of that it makes a lot more sense why I never seem to get anything done. But then, I guess, I don't own a television set so...
I don't know if I'm just being a complete mug (tell me if I am), but is there a way to get an RSS feed out of Soundcloud so that a podcatcher will automatically download the file?
I co-host a music podcast for Shallow Rave. There are 3 episodes up just now, 4th one on the way, and we had some live studio guests this time. It goes out on Soundcloud, and as of Show 4, on Radio Magnetic. We play a little bit of everything, but lean heavily twoards experimental electronica, dark minimal techno and hip-hop.
