I'd probably expect it to come out a month or two before the second season. Honestly, I'm surprised it didn't come out in November to hit the Christmas sales.
In my mind Balon Greyjoy had less hair but I think Brienne is decent considering the actress is pretty good looking out of make-up and Brienne's supposed to look like a mile of bad road.
Despite my undying hatred of the books, I think I'm going to give this season a shot since the bumbling Inspector Ned plot line (one of my larger annoyances with the first book) is done. Though it's got an uphill battle making me actually not want everybody to die horribly regardless.
Never read the books (which is really rare for me to say that), loved the first season, but this season's premier kinda felt flat to me. Not sure why. Think I may have to watch season one over again to get me in the mood.
Well, they got the guy who directed the Battle of Helms Deep from Twin Towers to do the episode where
they do the battle in King's Landing
so that should be epic.
I do think this episode was a little slow but it was setting up where the rest of the season is going to go: the struggles of the five kings, Tyrion being a BAD ASS, and many, many deaths.
First episode watched and thoroughly enjoyed. Though Jaime Lannister is an absolute prick, I have to say that I've been impressed with his treatment in the show through the first series to this one. He's not a cowardly man, he's a real soldier in many ways and isn't squeamish about a bit of hurtin'.
Notice for example how he reacts when he thinks he's going to be killed or at least mauled by Robb's dire wolf. There's no hint of fear, just a "let's get this over with" kind of closing of the eyes.
I also recognise the guy playing the bastard with the helmet. Who is that?!
Hahah, beautiful comparison shots! :D When Jaime first turned up in the show (I read the book after the first series was done and intend to do the same to the second book) I thought "This guy is there because Aaron Eckhart was busy, isn't he?" but he turned out to surprise me at every turn, even (and especially) by the end of the very first episode.
And yes, that guy.
That's why I hid the question, because he's indicative of a spoilery bit and he seems likely to be important in the future.
