After last night I'm pretty cranky, in a couple of ways.

The change to Gendry's plot? Fuck that and a bag of hammers.
The death of a certain woman? Fuck that and a bag of hammers (although they're really pushing the "Geoffry's really a psychotic monster and no one should be unhappy when bad things happen to him")

    Things that were good?
The foreshadowing of the Red Wedding? Awesome.
    Littlefinger's speech? Pretty awesome.

Yeah, but I always assumed Gendry's disappearance
would have more significance later with the Brotherhood being joined by zombie Caitlyn
    .

If they are going to have Gendry take the place of the person you mention, it may play holy hell with certain plotlines in the future.

well maybe RR Martin should hurry the hell up!

although not exactly. they could have gendry on dragon stone with the princess and stannis, keeping him in mind and when RR decides they just exchange edrics fate with whatever RR wanted... in all of zombie starks appearences they never mention gendry :(

The death of a certain woman? Fuck that and a bag of hammers

Dumb question, but who was the woman? I couldn't figure it out. (Possibly I'm not paying enough attention...)

    @Alastair

    Or they could
just have Davos send Gendry off to the Free Cities like they do Edric

    until her dying breath
    quite beautiful really.

I loved the scenes with "I love lemoncakes" Sansa.

I think the conversation with Sansa and Lorsa, and Sansa talking about the wedding plans after, highlight her naivete very, very well.
  5.  (9805.12)
    Regarding Sansa:
The "Yay! I can trust someone who wants to help me! Oh wait no I can't" thing pretty much gets played on her three or four times in the books until she finally wises up and realizes she's living in a crapsack world.

I realized on the way home what they were doing with the Gendry thing. I guess it pretty much confirms that
in the books, he was always going to be a minor character.

The Jon Snow romance feels like it's written for Jon Snow being the age he is in the books, not the twentysomething he is in the show. I felt like it was clumsily played out and hard to swallow until I realized that it IS supposed to be clumsy. Because Jon Snow's supposed to be a teenager. Watching an adult with a way more badass beard than I can ever get at the age of soon-to-be-30 act like that feels weird.

    So what did everyone think?
CGI was amazing this week, and there is some serious foreshadowing.
Walder Frey will have his wedding
Can you imagine if you haven't read the books?
the Dink is as always excellent.
Charles Dance is always pretty amazing too.
    great episode

@Scrymgeour: Agreed, they were laying on the foreshadowing thick. In addition to the dialogue between Bolton and Jaime,
    "Jaime Lannister sends his regards"
it took me a moment to realize the music that swelled up in the last few seconds of the episode and over the credits was The Rains of Castamere.

    yeah, amazing
    the best foreshadowing was
Tyrion saying "what would I do over the sea, juggle?" (to paraphrase)
  6.  (9805.17)
Tywin continues to be hilariously good. Guy could win a staring contest with a statue.

And for some reason, Yunkai looks almost exactly like I imagined it would from the outside.
