TokyoPop has its programs for finding new talent, the Rising Stars competition. In addition to that, they are starting something called the Shining Stars, where creators put together a pilot manga and if it does well, things will snowball from there.

And lo, I am the Shining Stars. It will be my first professional comic/manga work. I was originally going to keep a workblog over on the TokyoPop site, but I am told that they will be creating a special section for Shining Stars folks in a month or so. Of course, by that time my writing will be done and the artist will have it.

Yes, I came to TP without an artist attached and they found one for me. Which is good for me, I know.

What is also making this complicated is the fact that I am juggling this with an 20K word adventure for the Serenity RPG (Serenity as in the movie based on the Firefly TV series.) The chance to even work tangentially, and add to the Firefly/Serenity Verse was not one I could pass up.

So two major projects, both told to me to be done as soon as possible.

Which means I better go back to work.

Awesometastic. The only thing better than a creator is a really hyper-busy creator. Spin up the drives and find yourself punching out twice as much as you thought possible, and enjoy it!
