One of the few conventions I'm doing this year is ACEN (Anime Central for the layman) in Chicago, MAY 20-22 and it's always a hum-dinger! I love this show (I'm sure people here have heard me gush about it for the last 3 years) and I always meet lots of cool people there.
Since I don't have a new BOOK to promote for this show, I will be bringing my FULL set of REMAKE/REMODEL hi-quality 11x17 color prints that my gallery show at Green Brain Comics in Dearborn, MI was based around. And of course I'll have all my previous books there for people to purchase/scoff at/ridicule/point out typos.
Who else is going? ADDED INCENTIVE: I'll be rocking my Utilikilt, so come get a gander at my awesome, pale Michigan legs! It's fun for the whole family (the show, not my legs)!
Looking forward to it, Paul! Gretchen and I will be there on Saturday at the very least (but we have to work Friday, bleah), and we may have another commission for you! We've been wracking our brains for something to hang on the wall of the baby room that you could draw for us, basically. :)
I'm a returning guest at ACen this year (and Paul, we've been lobbying for you to be invited for a while now). I'll have four or five new books since last year's show, and I'm doing a trio of panels.
All righty, I'm working on killing this stupid spring cold by tomorrow, but all is prepped and I'm set for ACEN. Loaded for bear, all of the REMAKE/REMODEL prints looks great, so if there's one you have your heart set on, I'll be selling a selection of the more popular ones, along with all my other stuff and books! See some of you there!
I will not be going, as I live nowhere near the convention (Portland, OR). However, a friend in the Chicago area will be attending, and I'll try to direct her your way. Hope you have a good time!
I'm back; another great year at ACEN! Record crowds, good sales and the fans are the best!
Biggest sellers for me were all my REMAKE/REMODEL posters. The "Kick Their Axis" and "Science Builds The Future" posters went first, but the remade female Doctor Who and Steampunk Batman were also close behind. Lots of great cosplay at the con this year also; here's some of what I saw from my table.
Thanks to all who stopped by the table, I had a blast!
