The Event is finally over and presumably cancelled insofar as returning next year. That horrible thing is that its ending right at the point were it seemed to be about to get good.
Overall, the series was firmly in the realm of meh; watching out of habit more than interest. Except for those last few scenes which suddenly had me cursing it being the season finale of a cancelled series. Unless it's taken up by a new distributor/partner, maybe.
Am I late in discovering Oddities? It's on Discovery SCI channel, and I caught several episodes last night after seeing them on Conan recently. I recognized the guy from the Steampunk house, and the lead singer of Korn, the shop itself seems very Steampunk friendly. It's my girlfriend's new addiction, and I'm okay with watching it too.
I'm a fan of both Paul Rudd and Zach Galifianakis, and I hated it; one of the first movies in years I had to shut off without finishing it. Just fucking terrbile.
This may not be the correct forum for it, but I had to say it somewhere.
Try the original, "Le Diner de Cons". Caught it on TV a few months ago and it's one of the funniest films I've seen in a long time.
Still hunting around for some new US comedy since Community, Big Bang Theory and How I Met Your Mother are all done for now, although I think I'll probably not bother with HIMYM when it returns. There's been a real decline in quality since around Season 3 and the last episode of 6 was appalling. Outsourced seemed really promising at the start, but quickly degenerated into "and this is YET ANOTHER way India is different from the US, LOL".
Camelot, unfortunately, is mostly The Adventures of King Arthur, Surfer Douche. But Eva Green is great, wandering around rolling her eyes and chewing the scenery and generally being unnecessarily evil.
