today's daily. I should be out and about but trying to save money after all the long weekends so more doodles instead. still haven't seen the movie. There doesn't seem to be cinemas in my area that has the ordinary, non-3d version...
Neil, for me, he seems to be semi-burried into a mountain of killer aquatic children, all of them very very angry... anyhow, anything you will put there is going to work because that´s already amazing : )
@Neil...it bashing up some naval ships or just doing whole-scale carnage on a cityscape works. I'm sure you'll make it look epic. @pupato...tha..I was trying to wind myself down so I could finally sleep with those two. Didn't want to do classic Thor and couldn't be bothered google it. @valente....I just saw Source Code and Quantum Leap kept popping in my head. eh, Cap was dirty and quick with little thinking. The most thought went with the foreshortening of his shield.
Busted this out this evening. I'm donating an issue of my comic with an original hand drawn cover to a silent auction benefiting a young woman who is rather sick in my hometown. Tried out an ink wash with this one for the first time. I like the results enough to continue experimenting with it.
@lazzyfair - Best of luck and best wishes regarding the silent auction, nice stuff I dig the black on red image a lot. wicked 'stache
I thought I'd see if I'd made any progess regarding my current psychological breakdown by drawing a quick self portrait ...
just for comparison this is the one I did at the end of April (the last time I picked up a pen)
not smoking is making life better but man things are rotten right now. I've been finacing a lot of my madness with Art Council grant money since 2009 but not much came through this season. I had to take commercial work for the first time in over 10 years & I feel like bloody Winston with my face in a cage full of rats. just one of many, many problems right now I will survive, will care again, I will
EDIT: I'm going to pass out feeling really good tonight thanks to the Owner's of Facial Hair Thread : if you haven't been there yet you should really check it out.
@Valente - this is so fucking creepy, I owe Jack Crowder a Spidey drawing that I promised myself not to do until I meditate my way out of current depression, I think you just sent me a signal from beyond- very nice drawing.
What if Butch had opted for something other than a samurai sword?
This is an illustration I did for a poster I'm working on for a friend's Flashmob event...where I guess people are going to duel with lightsabers, which I am always down for.
@kyle-latino That is seriously one of the coolest things I've ever seen. @Valente That's awesome. Looks like a panel from some long-lost Grant Morrison Spider-Man project. @lazzyfair I'm loving Lightsaber Butch! After seeing that, I just had to post these from last week:
Just got back from a week in NYC. Here's a few pages from my sketchbook, getting some very quick sketches of people in Washington Square Park. Going more for vibe/expressions than anything realistic, clearly!
