My husband is a finalist in the American Gods audio book contest :) I think I harassed my friends and co-workers to death! I'm very excited!!!

    Two things:

Firstly, found out today that I may be able to completely quit my day job and work full time for the magazine by year's end. Potentially amazing.

Secondly, finally got my passport card so I can head up to Canada (just got into NW New York yesterday) next weekend. So! Toronto and Montreal, here I come! Very excited to be bouncing back and forth between the two until July.

    It only gets better.

I need to get into Deadwood. The more I hear about it, the angrier I get with myself for not seeing it yet.

I can't wait to watch more of it.

So just a few minutes ago I got word that a photo I took at a folk festival last year willbe used in a book about Ian & Sylvia Tyson. For those who don't know who they are, they did Four Strong Winds. If you don't know that song, they were the inspiration for Mitch & Mickey in A Mighty Wind. Am quite excited. So excited that I broke out in to a certain dance...

oldhat m'dear, the steampunk pics were utterly brilliant and if the daft buggers didn't pay you 'tis their loss.

Me, i have been appreciating the simple pleasures, namely skips in all their lovely skippiness.

Just applied for The Colony Season 3 on the Discovery Channel. No idea what my chances are, but that's the ONLY "reality tv" show I would ever go on.

@government spy My bro watches it, I haven't had a chance to catch it yet. I hope you get on the show.

Hmm good things? I got a refund from the oral surgeon about a week ago, which came just in time to pay for my car insurance. :D

Guilted a friend into coming to my play tonight. Afterward we got really yummy Korean food (she paid!)(well, I did comp her ticket to the show) and talked about art and inspiration and philosophy and stuff. Yay friends!

@Neila I think you can watch it on their website, it only has had two (short) seasons so far, and the last one was 50 days with a dozen people left in a post-Katrina area in Louisiana, (after a fictional outbreak) and left with very little supplies. They had to defend themselves from marauders and figure out how to get fresh water & food. Very cool post-apocalyptic survival.

Eight-pack of Guinness and a belly full of self-loathing and rage. Let the fun times begin.

Got order confirmation from Diamond, just a couple of checks and I will have bought my first batch of things to sell. I have also been helping with the renovations and we have very nearly finished the shop's back garden.
I also bought a ticket to a local festival Secret Garden Party. It's one of those things I should have gotten around to sooner. Ah well.

I have just gotten back from seeing 2001: A Space Odyssey at the cinema. Why isn't this film worshipped around the world? Obviously I'd seen it at home on video and then DVD, but I hadn't really seen it, not like I've just seen it.

It hurt my eyes at the end.
