So far: I don't have a migraine or intense stomach problems! I'm calling that a win.

Later tonight: off to see Thor.

Got offered digital distribution for my comics that might finance them so they're self-sustaining

May already have a job after abruptly losing one last week (at a higher pay grade!)

Cracked column just started and I'm keeping up with production

    Oxtail's in the crockpot

And I'm getting paid to draw men with hilarious facial hair today

Yessir, there's a mighty tall smile here in Queens.

My excellent friend from Vancouver who I haven't seen in three years came by, and we chilled in a coffee shop, lamenting the life of an art student like dirty hipsters.

And, first job! Took me damn long enough, thank you very much, recession. Looking forward to the prospect of actually having money this summer.

    Nice one, Beamish!

Got my tax return! That's good!
Was informed later today that it has to go to a bill that has reached "final notice" phase. That's bad.
But I still bought myself two beers and a copy of Neuromancer. That's good!
Construction was going on outside our building, leaving me unable to concentrate. That's bad.
But now I'm in my PJs and sipping Dead Elephant Ale which doesn't taste like dead elephant, but contains hints of Butterscotch. That's good!
The frogurt is also cursed. That's...yeah, you know.

^ You get to check out the fine bearded men of Whitechapel with way to many manly photos, which is good (for you). There, now you have more good than bad.

@ Beamish : FUCK YEAH! Hooray for you!

    Beamish da man.

I wrote 2000 words of my novel today and revised the chapter planning (this took close to three hours).

I found a strength training buddy today, HOORAY! Turns out my friend Chris does a lot of weight lifting as part of his FtM transition, and has become very knowledgeable about the various muscle groups and how to work out both general body areas, and specific muscles.

Only downside is that I did my strength training just after my spinning sessions today, which revved my metabolism like whoa (good), but made me ravenous for the rest of the day and I ended up eating waaaay too much (bad).

BUT, I ordered a foam roller on Amazon yesterday, to help me massage and stretch my muscles (good!), so I'm super excited for that to arrive :)

I think what I'm gonna end up doing for now, since I'm always hungry now that my metabolism has increased on account of me being more fit, is stop restricting my calorie intake and put the weightloss on hold, and focus on cardio for fitness and strength training to bulk up, cos I ignored strength training during the period I lost 20 pounds and who knows how much of that was muscle mass >.>

This is actually a pretty good thing going on that is just stressing me the fuck out, thanks to bad timing:

As I was driving to my Japanese final tonight a dude called me. didn't recognize the number but I told the person to wait while I dug out my hands free set. Got it all set up and he was still there. Turned out the artistic director of my theatre company passed my name to him as someone to call when one is in a bind and needs a stage manager stat. Pretty fucking, cool, right? I'm dependable and thought of as such by people who do work I really admire. Sweet.

I just couldn't really think about the project he was talking about it while trying gear up for Japanese so I asked him to email me the info. I knew the project would be troublesome. I'm in desperate, desperate need for a break. I've been going like gangbusters for three months between two plays, two voice classes and my Japanese class I haven't really had time to think and be, let alone clean and eat well. And this dude wants me to sign on ASAP. they start tech next weekend...

Oy vey. This isn't the Troubling Things Thread. Which is good. Just...it's nice to have a stranger call me up and offer me money for the stuff I can do because he heard of me from someone else I worked for. Fucking SUCKS I had to turn him down. Like really fucking sucks. But if I have to go another weekend without a chance to drink heavily and instead deal with one more actor who thinks he's a special snowflake...someone's going to die.

So i'm trying to remind myself that this is a good thing, even if it doesn't work in the immediate sense. Because I so was totally going to just show up here and babble some nonsense about being relieved Japanese was over and how a normal, boring weekend will be quite a relief.

But ZOMG am I ever going to get drunk, first chance I get. Christ.

Had a really crappy day yesterday, but ran into a friend who was having a similarly horrible time. Ended up talking til midnight and saving each others' days in the process.

Found a place to get high quality prints of my work made, which means selling prints could happen. Also was actually social and went out and listened to live music in a bistro.

I'm suffering from a rather nasty hangover and I just wrote the introduction for my second novel. A sequel to a novel I've 98% finished.
