I didn't see a Listening Thread for May so I thought I'd start one.

    What's everyone listening to?

I've been playing the shit out of Death Grips for a few days, which is probably the greatest (angriest) hip-hop I have ever heard.

A little bit of a Juxtaposition one local, one Rad Racer-esque. and one recognized worldwide brought on by time in the gym.

Some of what i was listening to today...

  3.  (9835.7)
Sepalcure's Fleur EP, Mount Kimbie gone a bit R&B.
P-Money's 2009 mixtape is killa -- real grime music. Gearing up for P-Money and Blacks "Boo You". Gonna be huge.
Still cannot get enough of Jacques Greene's "Another Girl". His remix of Katy B's "Broken Record" is also fine summer listening.
Today's discovery: Rockwell's "Aria". Loungy intricate drum&bass for upbeat quivering revision sessions.

Post-exam tomorrow, will put on "Next Hype" by Tempa T, go vote in the referendum, and then get royally bladdered.

@ keysofsilence - that death grip is got interesting beats and yes very very angry!

icelandbob- you are becoming one of my favorite dj's specially liked the Light Asylum ( it's kind of krafty and reminds me of ian curtis without outright plagurizing either of those groups like so many tend to do these days)

me I'm reliving my youth today with this. I saw them way back before I even heard of them and they scarred the hell into me

Been listening to old calypso slinging matches between Lord Melody & King Sparrow. It's like the ultimate predecessor of the rap battle.

Also Bad Brains. Because I saw a crazy looking dude in a top hat with a Bad Brains patch on his leather jacket and it reminded me that I should really listen to them.

The new Beastie Boys, which is awesome, a lot of Atomic Bitchwax, Krallice and Joost Egelie's Boundaries Of Infinity.

A friend recently pointed me in the direction of And So I Watch You From Afar, and i feel angry with myself for not listening to them sooner. I mean, just take this first track off their new album.
