1. I'm listening to Dead Can Dance for the first time in a really long time and just happened to have "Ubiquitous Mr Lovegrove" come on while I was reading the strip. It's a fascinating...thing. Anguish, all around. And anger and pain.

2. I keep thinking about madness. Insanity from an episode. It doesn't fit well with any mental disorder I've looked into, but then I've never looked into megalomania. However it fits beautifully, perfectly within every dimension of literary madness. In high school English several classes were devoted to insanity in Hamlet, pretty much talking about how Hamlet might or might not be off his nut. But my essay was how King Claudius was ka-ray-zee. Naturally, it depends on how you define it. But I argued that pursuing an idea beyond normal bounds, beyond what your peers would do, beyond what you were counseled, beyond the strictures of acceptable acts as determined by consensus (i.e. the law), a person demonstrates insanity. King Claudius went off the deep end and just insisted on continuing on without a single thought for alternatives or even a question to the necessity of his plans.

So Mark. The descent is beautiful, sharp, breathtaking. Excellent work. As ever, on pins and needles, waiting to see what happens next. And Paul - your rendering of Mark here is terrifying. I would not want to be in the room, even with Freakpowers.
