    @kay you are not alone there, I'd go on record saying that I don't much care for watchmen, that's not why I like moore. I am fond of the bible though

    I wasn't so much saying Watchmen was rubbish, just that a) it doesn't bear re-iterating and b) even if it was a deep enough text to withstand re-use, I doubt I'd be spending time reading the same thing again with a different skin. The genre shelves of any bookshop are padded with endless blatantly derivative works, but my internal pattern recognition software jacks up every time I try to read one of them - or any other kind of fanfic for that matter.
