    Adele, Amy Winehouse,Duffy. Modern music is dominated at the moment by
    female artists and female groups with a soul edge.

    But in that run up a whole lot of female soul based artists
    have been forgotten.


    I want the female soul/rnb artists you think the world may have
    lost or forgotten.Or Hidden gems by artists that most people don't know about!

    My contribution is:

    For Real [1993-1999]

    A lost RNB female group who did the whole Motown RnB with modern production
    15 years before Mark Ronson.A female group that decided not
    to do the T&A bikini stuff and wore their hair naturally, even
    shaved their heads in protest.

    Really like For Real never heard of them before. I think soul/R/B genre has the shortest lifespan of any other music category, but maybe I just grew up in the wrong city:
    Song is way bigger than the artist but I think most of her work is great and I'm tired of hearing this covered


    Producer bigger than the band but it never hurts to have Barry White on your side

    This was the first piece that, as a female I listened to and just went "Yes".

    Sarah Jones is always wonderful, but this addition of DJ Vadim is wonderful.
