    I was recently introduced to a great little platform for creating comics with simple interaction for iphones and things. I posted this in the last webcomics week, but thought it deserved it's own thread.

    A picklet is a bite-sized digital popup book.
    Picklets is a free app for iOS for reading picklets. (Not available yet.)
    Picklet Builder is a web application for creating picklets.
    For authors, a picklet is a kind of interactive sequential art.

    Here's one I made. I've also written some thoughts about the process.

    Picklet developer Stewart Haines is in London this week and will be at Bristol Comic and Small Press Expo on the 15th of May.

    Thanks for linking your work here, Seb. It's great to see it out in the world.

    Just to be clear - I'll be wandering around the Bristol Expo on Sunday. I don't have any kind of official presence, but if you've got a table there and you look like an artist I might hand you my mini-comic 'Understanding Picklets' and do my project pitch. Fair warning.

    If any UK-based whitechapel folk are interested in the project shoot me an email. I'm in the UK another week or so then heading for the continent.

    It might just be that my brain is fried but, is that link only supposed to work on the iPhone? Cause I tried going via the web browser just to get a little preview and better understanding of Picklets and it didn't work. Haven't tried visiting with my phone yet. I'd like to see a few put together ones just to get a good feel of it all.

    Slesh - the whole thing seems pretty easy to put together, judging by your mini-comic. Have you done any like, 3-hour workshops of people putting things from start to finish? Sounds like a fun thing to bring to like, artist/animator/comics/etc drinkups as we do here in NYC.

    @glukkake - Strange, the web version still works for me. Should load up on the left, then use the little arrow slider to navigate. I don't even have an iPhone. Ben Hutchings is working on a really great one. He's got a blog post with a small sample yonder.
    I actually got into picklets by meeting Stewart at a workshop he held at the animation course I'm doing, much as you just described.

    Ah! Thank you, I was just doing it wrong, as I was just clicking without the sliding. Didn't comprehend the whole sliding the arrow from right to left. Brain fail.
    Now I must add this to my list of things I want to play with.

    The web-based picklet authoring tool uses Google accounts for authentication, so when you want to play email me your Google account name and I'll send you an invitation.
