It's Friday, it's FREAKANGELS: In which POOR ALICE.
Good morning, Whitechapel. It's Friday the 13th, so do be careful about having a pretty much absolutely normal day except with everything that goes wrong seeming THAT MUCH WRONGER. And if you're really worried about that sort of thing, I reckon I've just jinxed myself for your share of horribleness, yeah? How's everyone doing?
It seems the whole Internet is going wrong today. Me, I'm watching a bunch of Old Boy DVD commentaries.
So at the same time the whole world is blowing up and nothing definite happens at all. This is one of those times I want to freeze myself until there's more comic to read.
Also whoa the comic goes up this time? All this time I thought it was four hours later.
Everything is wrong today, but given how work has been recently, no more wrong than usual. It's Friday the 13th's all the way down! Still, nothing that some lovely beams of energy causing ripples in the sky can't fix.
Well, I'm up way to late state side. Birds are chirping, sun is shining, and I'm now off to bed. I curse whomever thought Lumping a week's worth of exams together was a decent way of measuring a student's grasp of knowledge.
Anyway it's kinda sad, isn't it? The wrapping up of the series, only a handful of episodes left. I used to want the story to hurry up, now I want to slow down. You know it's coming to the close because all of a sudden Mark is no longer the boogeyman. Looks like their going to fix it. Pity, isn't it?
Well, you can't do heavy damage to London and get away with it, only with a "sorry, it wasn't our intention". Freakangels need to undo all the damage to make things OK again. Probably on the next episode everything material will be fixed. Except the people who died, I don't think even Freakangels can bring people back from the grave, but who knows? Waiting for next Friday, hoping it's not a skip week... Sad this story is ending.
Bloody brilliant. I particularly like page 5 with the distant view of the... energy thing... seen through the London Eye.
I noticed on Warren's blog earlier this week that he finished writing the series a while back (I hadn't visited for quite a while). Even though we don't know how it ends yet, I just wanted to thank you Warren for taking us all on this journey.
As for Friday the 13th, the Eurovision semi-finals start tonight. Enough said :)
(Later: OK, they actually started a few days ago, they're just not broadcasting them here until tonight. Way to make me look like a fool SBS! :)
Seconded on the Millennium Eye pod in the foreground. Beautiful!
No Friday the 13th manifestations for me yet, but the day's only half over. But Amanda Palmer dropped into Amsterdam for a quick ukulele performance on the Dam, by the big monument. Somebody gave her a beer, and then the cops came by later and hauled her to HQ just to give her a fine, for drinking that beer. Crazy, man.
I don't know about anyone else, but I find this whole thing a bit frightening. They're not fixing Mark, they're just finally agreeing with him. Alice's gun is gone, which means they are not going to simply leave things as they are. But Alice rejoins Whitechapel which means they are not turning back the clock to pre-Crash conditions either. Curiouser and curiouser.
Oh, and did I mention this whole thing has been an emotional roller coaster lately? Just wanted to add that.
For some reason I rather loved the picture of the London Eye pod half submerged on page 5. Even if it was in there purely to fill up space, I'd love a bigger copy of that on my desktop. But then when was the last time there was a panel in Freakangels just to fill up space....
This week I have tried to collate all the ideas I've not done anything with for the last year or so into one notebook and am trying to figure out what to do with them. I've no suitable outlet of my own to copy this 30 days of ideas, so I may well just blog them here and hope someone else can have a go at them. I feel the need to spring clean the brain, so to speak.
I imagine the "Energy thing" to sound like an endlessly tearing strip of paper, at about 120db. The Colouring is lovely, Me and M. went to Orbital last weekend to have a peek at Mr. Duffield and Ms. Browns work. It was very nice.
Not so chipper today, spent yesterday in Royal London Infirmary being tested after being stricken with chest pains at work. attempted to go into day, but think the amount of blood siphoned off has left me with anemia, and i feel internally bruised,so am "off sick". Hideous, I can hear my income pouring away. No Heart damage, but no diagnosis as to what the cause actually is. A trip to the London Chest clinic is being arranged, and whatever it was, whilst hideously uncomfortable, is almost definately not serious.
