    @Everyone that has some stories for "Getting There" --I know that Anchorbeard is rather busy and that he had some problems and may not have received all of the submissions... can you all resend them to me? Be sure to include your name on here, real name, and what you want to have written about you at the back. (And anything else you may want to include that I haven't thought of.) I'll also send you an e-mail saying I got, I should be able to check my e-mail every night but Thursday so you should get a confirmation within 24 hours. If not, send another e-mail asking.
    Address = warped_savant [at] yahoo [period] com

    I tend to get a lot of spam so I'll double check that folder before deleting anything... hopefully I catch them all.

    Anchorbeard -- When you get a chance, can you send me what you have just in case people don't check here often?

    @Warped Savant: Email headed your way now, sir, laden, positively BURSTING with fiction!

    Question for all of the contributors:
    What do we want to charge for this little collection? (Do we want to charge for it?)
  5.  (9872.288)
    I've re-sent my story to you with an altered (better) title + my details.

    As for pricing - how many stories are set to be included in this volume and what format(s) will it be available in? My only other though is that, Steevo may have some suggestions regarding this seeing as he did OOP, OOT.
  6.  (9872.289)
    There's currently 9 stories, ranging from 4-6 pages on a Kindle (smallest font setting, sans serif, smallest font setting, most words per line).
    Compared to OOP, OOT which had 30-something stories but I think they were 2-3 pages each. It's on Amazon for $2.99

    My understanding was that we were just putting this up on Amazon to be sold for the Kindle.

    To be honest, I'd love to have a physical copy of the book, but that would require a larger effort, and I'm not sure that you really want to spend that amount of time getting it out. Do you think we should take stock of what types of formats people want to see on this? I'd be willing to help out on a physical copy if you decide to do one, Neil.

    In terms of pricing, I believe I was pretty locked into selling them for $2.99, though I may be misremembering... Or the way the pricing works on these could be different at this point. Either way, Amazon lets self-published books into the lending library for free (even though the publisher [that being me in the case of OOP, OOT and Neil in this case] does get a cut for any books that are borrowed). They also had a deal where you could offer the book for free for a week, whenever you wanted, and the publisher would also get a cut for that.

    Again, I'm not sure if they still operate this way.

    Email sent. I like the idea of a physical copy, but I've got no idea how much more effort that would require for what would surely be a very small number of books... That said, I'll be very surprised if I don't end up with an e-reader of some description by the end of this year. It's either that or keep buying bookshelves.

    @warpedsavant

    Do you have my story "The Robot Was" and bio from anchorbeard or do I need to send it again to you?

    I'd prefer a physical copy but if digital is the only way to go, that's fine too.

    Let me know if I need to send the story again.
  9.  (9872.293)
    Steevo -- I have no idea what has to go in to making a physical copy. If you'd be willing to help with that, that would be awesome. E-mail me and we can talk about what's involved.

    Corey -- Got it, thanks.

    Lucky Creature -- I have the story, not the bio. E-mail me so that I can respond with any suggestions / edits.

    @Warped Savant

    Just forwarded mine to you, along with a bio.

    In terms of a physical copy, if it is layouts you are worried about doing, I can offer some help. If it's all text, no illustrations,I could finish layouts for you very quickly.
  11.  (9872.296)
    Texture -- It's not that, although I do appreciate the offer, it's that I think there's a lot of red-tape type stuff to go through. I could be wrong, but I seem to remember getting that impression from Steevo.

    Finally sent my stories in, but forgot a bio, will try to work something up later.

    But wanted to say - I didn't mind paying for a hard copy of OOT, OOP because it was through Lulu and there's no money in this. However, I would expect a contributor's copy (i.e. free) if we are going ebook only on this.

    No worries. Anything Ican help with, do just drop me a line.

    Rob -- I agree with you about the free copy for contributors.
    Ultimately, it's up to you good folks for what the price is and what formats it's available in. I know that Amazon has a clause that if they sell it for you, you can't sell it on any other site for 3(?) months in any electronic format (POD is fine though).

    I like the POD version of OOPOOT. And I don't mind paying for it. My name! Is on the cover! Of a book! A real book! It's pretty sweet.

    But if this takes off as an actual quarterly, you might want to get a solid design idea down that you can carry on to future issues. Don't just wing a print version.
