Most of the Avatar crew are at Phoenix Comicon this weekend (along with special guest Si Spurrier), Paul Duffield and Kate Brown set out for MCM this morning, and Warren will be there for an hour tomorrow... so we're taking a skip week. I know how these skips used to bother everyone, but as we near the end of the series, I've got a hunch some of you won't mind putting off the ending just... a little... longer... amirite?

So who's attending which con? I am nowhere near Phoenix or England which, really, is just as well, as allergies and rain and rain-worsened-allergies managed to eat a chunk of my week and oh my fuck do I have a pile of work or what ahhhh. How's everyone else faring?

An up and down week - rejected a better paying job which wanted to bleed me dry, but things are looking up. Am a lot happier now my financial situation has improved! Not going to MCM this weekend, but will be at the one near the year end.
Allergies don't help with work, rest or play - hope you're getting them under control.
    Here's to the weekend!

I feared it would be a skip week, but at least it means the end isn't coming so soon.

I'm off to Warren's neck of the woods tomorrow to see the Southend Airshow. I'm hoping that next Thrusday we will actually complete on selling our flat and buying our house. Then comes the stressful bit of organising builders, plumbers, electricians, kitchen fitters, floor layers and decorators to get all the work done in 6 weeks so we can move in. The person who was going to organise it for us had a nervous breakdown, so I'm not hopeful.

I have no problem with skip weeks. It's like spacing out your drinks with water when you're at the bar--sure, another whiskey sounds awesome, but you'll wish you'd had water sooner or later.

Me, I'm stressed as shit. I'm going in with a buddy of mine on an ebook collection of short stories. We started planning this in April, the idea being that we bang out five stories each, and kick them up ASAP. This kid is an absolute machine; he was done--twenty-five thousand words!--in three days. I floundered a bit--we had those tornadoes run through my neighborhood, which killed my momentum, and here we are near June and I'm still working. We put a firm deadline of June 15 or so, and I know I can meet that, but man--the words just ain't coming like I want them to.

Also: work is literally killing me. I feel all hunched over. This long weekend is going to do me some good. A little rest, a little housework, a shitload of writing, and maybe some adventuring with the wife.

I need a pep talk from Mickey or something. I need to be told that I'm gonna eat lightning and crrrrrrrrrap thundah.

    Ugh, I am needs drink

    Stretching it out. That's OK.
A decent week, made better this morning with review of @kpatrickglover's and my Webcomic over at CBR.
I wish I was in Phoenix, because then my allergies wouldn't be fucking with me so much.

I knew we were due for a skip week.
    I'm OK with it.
But I wonder, how will it end? Can't wait!

My shoulders did slump a little, but only because my day has been oh so very boring and I was hoping for some comic based pep.

    Ho hum.

Long weekend here in blighty, so it's not all bad. Even if it is going to belt it down with rain the entire time.

I've never been to a convention. Are they good? Is it worth going? Or over rated? Maybe I should try it...

I've also gotten myself into a huge pile of To Do and am doing that deer staring into the headlights freezy thing where I don't know where to start first.
So right now, it's just breathing and trying to calm my overly caffeinated nerves so I can get started & send out my apology emails for delaying EVERYONE.

I hope your allergies are getting better though.

I had a feeling it would be a skip. Sad though. I really don't want to space these last eps out, myself...

Anyway I have a real weekend. And a really long to-do list. Largely homebody stuff, cleaning, replenishing goods, seeing to the finances (that one is going to make me cry, I just know it, so...tired...) and then gearing up for Monday's annual char-everything-in-sight-while-drinking-and-somehow-not-burning-the-house-to-the-ground event.

At least the weather has finally corrected itself to something seasonal. Looks to be pretty and pleasant over the next few days. After the way the last six months have been I wouldn't be surprised by snow or hail of frogs.

Didn't I say it? Skip weeks will become more and more frequent as we asymptotically approach the last page.

    tears beard, weeps

Oh, there is no installment today. This tale is so epic, it will be a bit sad when it finally ends; however, a skip week will let me savor the story a bit further, and will help me anticipate more fiction that Warren Ellis will write.

The weather at my place is currently excellent. I will travel to the beach, hang out with friends, and get some exercise. Hope you all have a great week.

I know you guys are hard at work on the final act, so... brava! in advance.

Skip week makes me sad, The End makes me sadder still.
Ah well, at least now I can go drown my misery in- oh, what was that? I still have work to do in the lab? At 7pm on a holiday weekend? Oh, sorry, I'll be at my desk.

At least the weather looks nice...

Skip week is fine. I'm not ready for it to be over yet.

It feels weird. Everyone I know in the world it seems at Phoenix this weekend or so it seems. It feels weird to not be there.

    I've GOT IT!!!

Sit down, everyone. Here's the concept. We put a TIME MOAT between Warren and Paul and the exits! That way, they'll stay in Whitechapel and can keep cranking out more Freakangels. Thennn... we can put another moat between them and us, and the anticipation of the next episode can just stretttttch onnn and onnnn and... HEY! What are you doing? WHY IS EVERYTHING TURNING PURP ............ *

I had a hunch it would be a skip week, but then I often have a hunch it'll be a skip week and it isn't, so I can't lay claim to FreakAngely precognitive abilities quite yet.

Another dull working week's gone by for me. Up until about a month ago I was devoting all my work time to a massive, highly stressful project - now that it's finished and the pressure is off I feel oddly vague and unfocused. I suspect my amygdala (or whatever) may have adapted to stupidly high stress levels and is getting all cranky now that I'm not providing them. Maybe I need to take up sky diving or base jumping or bear baiting or something to compensate.

hmmmm... by adding more and more skipweeks you keep us tight longer while waiting for the end... ;-)

Last week has been a bit weird: just came back from a vacation, had to travel again to my old hometown for my dad has been taken into hospital in a bad condition. He didn't look good at all when we saw him. And during the drive to there the windshield of my car got crashed... I hope next week gets a bit better than this. The good news is that I get messages now that dad is beginning to recover again.

Phoenix? England? Out of reach for me. Next week is workingweek again. Nightshift.
