I'm with Grease. My hangover should have drifted away by then. Jeez...I need some tea.

To all, thanks for such a wonderful night of rowdiness and laughs. A pleasure as always.

Also, I hope I didn't do anything regretful.

You don't remember doing that striptease just after midnight?

For those reading who weren't there, I did NOT striptease.

I do recall proposing the seven of us attack Wisconsin.

My wife and I had a great time with you all, and it was nice to catch up with Peter and Florence whom I hadn't previously met. You're all welcome back next month if you feel like it.

Random notes, because I am high and can't write a coherent paragraph:

    1) I don't fucking remember what happened at the end there. I recall admonishing Lucien to see the ladies safely to the car/subway, then I fell asleep on the coffee table.

    2) Someone brought a bottle of South African white which we put in the fridge and forgot to drink. We'll hang onto it for next time.

    3) Also, did I launch some fireworks off the balcony at some point, or did I dream that part? I seem to remember the neighbours applauding.

@greasemonkey - don't know much about 1 and 2, but as far as 3 goes, i remember some loose talk of fireworks, but as far as i remember there was no actual launchings. the applause might have been a dream.

    1) Not sure. I hope Hex got back okay.
    2) Oh, cool!
    3) You DID launch fireworks. Twice. Florence let me take pictures of it with her camera. And yes, neighbours from down below cheered.
  3.  (9900.49)
The bottle of Two Oceans was a thank you for hosting, so don't feel you need to save it.
I love it, but I ain't drinking it when I get together with the lot of you again. Whiskey and beer hangovers I can deal with, but I find wine requires moderation, something we as a group are clearly incapable of.

And yes, the fireworks were real. I was actually about to comment about your neighbours must love the noise when the cheering began.

And I recall the planning to attack Wisconsin, but I can't for the life of me remember the context.
I also recall Lucien describing a movie in such a way, that I felt I NEEDED to see it....but don't recall what the movie was.

    (Florence and Hex...you guys okay?)

Glad to see I wasn't the only one who didn't remember significant events.

As near as I can figure there, was NO STRIPTEASE (I would definitely have remembered that) but there was cuddling and for that, I thank you. I would happily cuddle with any of you but the fact it was an actual girl was a nice touch. No pun intended. (Oh, alright, a bit intended. But not like that. More like "she touched MY SOUL, man!") Another couple of glasses and I would have happily (there's that word again) done my Dance of the Two Veils, which has bewitched King and commoner alike. Also glad to hear I didn NOT do this, as it sometimes offends. (I'm, uh, not allowed back to the Olive Garden. It's a long story.)

I don't recall planning to attack Wisconsin but I'm more than willing to believe I was the one who suggested it.

Mrs. Greasemonkey was a lovely person and incredibly tolerant about opening her home to a bunch of drunks such as us. She is truly one of the good ones and must, as such, be considered an honorary Whitechapeller. My thanks to her and Greasemonkey for hosting our debauch.

Here's a howdy-do: I remember us deciding Iceland Bob was the Coolest Guy Ever. Odalizabeth was also mentioned as Very Cool. And Oddbill, Peter Kelly still has your number. If that means anything at all to you.

My bike ride home was largely uneventful, considering the night I'd just had. (Beer, wine, dope, whiskey, more beer, wine, dope and whiskey - I remember eating delicious fettucine and delicious cookies, as well).

Whenever people speak of the Toronto Chapter of Whitechapel, they'll say we're a bunch of literate alcoholics WE ARE THE GREATEST PEOPLE IN THE HISTORY OF THE UNIVERSE and that our gatherings are always a good time.

Looking forward to the next one (and let's make it soon!!!!). And yes, Greasemonkey, I remember the fireworks. Somewhat dimly but there you go.

@ anyone who wanted to come - you missed a doozy. Seriously, not only are we all awesome and sexy, it's like the fucking Algonquin Round Table of the 21st Century. Walk, run, jump, limp, crawl, I don't care, just get down here next time! Iceland Bob, your presence is especially requested.

    Additional stuff:

    1) Oldhat told the story of why she and Lucien and I can't go back to those places where we drank on our last two meet-ups.

    2) I figured out the fireworks actually happened on discovering the scorch marks on my balcony wall just now.

    3) Florence, did you get home okay?

    4) We are indeed the greatest people in the history of the universe. Who else can tell a story about a major rock star stealing a bunch of shit from his buddy's house?

    5) Thanks for the wine, Peter!

    6) PICTURES next time.

    7) It took me three trips to the dumpster to dispose of all the bags of empties.

Goddamit! I will be back in Buffalo for a few days at some point this summer, so you all better be ready to do this again. I may need to crash the night somewhere - I don't think I'll be in any condition to engage customs officers from the sound of it.

Peter Kelly is very welcome to retain my number for as long as he requires. He is a gentleman and a scholar.

I'm not sure either of those words apply to any of the rest of you, but you're certainly wonderful raggedy bastards and I miss you all.

@Oddbill - you might be able to crash with us, provided we've gotten the daybed set up and the spare room cleared of junk. Let us know in advance, and we'll arrange another Toronto meet-up to coincide with your next visit.

@Florence - you're welcome, glad you had a good time.

@DJ - hope you can make it to the next one.

@ florence - glad you made it home (hell, glad I made it home!) and thanks for checking in. Great to see you again. Hope I didn't frighten you unduly.

@ lucien - what's a weed ... ? I have no idea what you're talking about. I'm shocked, SHOCKED! to find talk of weed here. ("Here's your weed, sir." "Yes, thank you." *tucks it in his coat*)

@ DJ - what the hell, man, the more the merrier (and I DO mean "merrier"!) !!! (Yes, Kirby exclamation points, whaddya gonna do?)

Man, I wish I could have made it. Maybe I should initiate a meetup next time I'm in town.
  5.  (9900.60)
@ Diello no "should" about it, just do it.
@ Lucien, thanks....going to try to watch A lion in Winter this weekend.
@ Oddbill if greasemonkey can't get you a bed, I'm sure I can find some room for you.

Thanks again to everyone, I've been needing a proper holiday for a while and last weekend was the best/closest thing I'm getting for a bit. I left creatively charged (and more then a little drunk) and happier then i've been in while.
    THAT'S a good fucking party.
