As I said in the introductions thread, I'm an aspiring comics writer. It took me a long time to get going, but reading Warren's work and columns really inspired me to throw myself into it. I took a class at comicsexperience.com to learn how to write scripts, and I just went at it. The result of the class is a 5 page story that I'm currently getting drawn. It's a real learning experience.

I found my artist, Jason Baroody, on the ten ton studios forums, he's been really great to work with. I'm looking for a letterer and colorist now, and planning my next moves.

I have an idea for a longer story arc with the same characters, so this 5-pager has a bit of a set-up feel to it, but I feel that its a complete story on its own. Anyway, I'm not posting the script, cause I understand that's against the rules, but here's the first two inked pages (that's ok to post, right? If not, I will take them down).

Briefly, it's kind of an updated sword and sorcery style story - I like to think of it as Lankhmar with guns. Hope you all like it, and if people are interested, I will post updates as the project moves further along.

Posting fiction, as it says in the rules, creates a legal minefield for those professionals who frequent this site—but I believe there's no rule against providing a website and allowing us the freedom to visit it voluntarily.
Because then those of us who visited your site would be responsible for respecting copyright law on our own, rather than just stumbling upon something accidently on a public forum.

Be very careful about the placement of type within compositions. It has to remain a background element or it becomes a distraction. It's messing up the otherwise very cool third and forth panels. ...
