Total utter amateur here with my trusty lil touristy Canon PowerShot. And by "trusty" I mean HAHAHAHAHA! Anyway, you guys are brilliant but I wanted to show one pic I took that I'm quite proud of, even if luck was the major factor.
Railings and security were mainly there to pen in the VIP areas, and look closer than they were in that picture because of the telephoto. Here is a better view...
@razangel: I'm greatly impressed by a lot of the stuff here and that's regardless of whether it came from one of the 'proper' photographers or a clueless click monkey like myself. Yes, skill is important and people get great results with it, but it still comes down to where you point the thing in the first place.
This weekend taphead, I and several other friends went into a retreat of sorts. The spiritual exercises included eating two kilos of horse flesh, several different types of sausages and cheeses, barbecued vegetables of all sorts; there were cakes and beers and sparkly wine, and a native sweat lodge on the shoreline. Taphead here demonstrates the powerful spiritual powers we were bestowed by this strict diet of gluttony and sloth:
I love so much of what has been posted this month. It's a pleasure to associate with such talented, creative people.
Special love for joanneleah and allana's work -- I struggle with portait photographs, and I respect those who can do them so well. Bankara's shots are splendid, and I am a particular fan of the night bridge shot. JonCarpenter's flowers are ace. ChevalierDisguise's first appearance is excellent. Vornaskotti's midnight lakeside shot is wonderful. Oldhat, I dig your man-in-field shot -- sparse.
@ Trini: Am i allowed to be just a little disturbed by that?
@ Vornaskotti: I have heard that horseflesh and cheese may produce a certain amount of intestinal gas but had not realised the effect was so pronounced...
