I was listening to Implodes album today! I love the mix of ambient post-rock and almost black metal guitar. If it was screamed vocals instead of Gothic whispers, then it would have been a completely different album
The Boxcutter Went, a teaser for the eagerly awaited (by me) Wu-Tang Pulp LP by Wrecking Crew (Has-Lo, Zilla Rocca, Curly Castro & Elucid + guests) which reinterprets classic wu joints through the lens of pulp/noir fiction and comics.
Here's the trailer for the project:

if you haven't already, go and download the Burning Bright EP "Freesmiles" from our friends at Black Lantern Music. I love rapper Tickle's double-timed-and-at-some-times sung delivery style, and Salem Anders' production is tiiiight.
Also, (and I blame T3XTUR3 for this) I've ripped my old Dr DOOOM CD and been giving that a re-listen, mainly to revel in Kool Keith's lunatic flow.
I once tried to see KK at a festival, only to discover he had apparently checked himself into a mental health clinic (True Fact).
Recently stumbled into this : "Space Girl", performed by The Imagined Village "My Momma told me I should never venture into space, but I did, I did, I did..." The video's pretty nice, too. Space Girl
New(er) stuff: The Lonely Island- Turtleneck & Chain (it might make my Best Albums list this year, and I don't care. It's some well crafted comedy-rap.) ohGr- Undeveloped (just came in the mail today, and I can't get over how good it is.) The Aeronauts- Burlesque and Balloons (a local band, steampunky gypsy pop-rock something or another. This might sum them up pretty well: They need a new fiddle player, btw, in case anyone knows of one they can ship off to Nashville...)
Old stuff that's getting rotation during drives: Mike Patton- Mondo Cane Skinny Puppy- Too Dark Park Tomahawk- Mit Gas (a whole fucking lot of rotation) The Faint- Fasciination
