Agree with Beamish. The art on FreakAngels has always been good, but you can really see Paul blossom throughout this series 'till we're at the point now where it's like, "Holy F*#^ing Shit that Paul Duffield is five major kinds of awesome". Oh, yeah, Warren's writing's not bad either . . . ;-)

In any event, things are good here on U.S.'s right hand coast. We've actually had an entire week w/o rain, though it's been ungodly hot and humid throughout until this morning, when I was greeted at my front door by one of those cool, crystal clear mornings that we never seem to get out here anymore. Supposed to continue through the weekend too so I'm psyched for that. Supposed to take my 6 year old daughter fishing early tomorrow morning, but she's been such a sleepy head lately I wouldn't be half surprised if she shooed me away in the wee hours. If that's the case, and tomorrow morning's anywhere near as glorious as today is, I'll just leave her in Mom's capable hands and go off on my own.

The bit with Connor and the cider reminds me of the cheap ass beer and malt liquor we used to drink while underage in college. We liked it because it was cheap, came in large bottles, and got us crocked w/o much expense. But, dear God, strike me dead if that stuff ever has to pass through my lips again. Youth is the key ingredient in achieving difficult things. For some, its training to be a world class athlete or scholar or artist, for others (like me) it's developoing the ability to consume large amounts of sub par and highly suspect food and liquor . . .

Pure awesomeness. You've outdone yourself Paul! I'm particularly impressed by the water rushing out of Westminster on page 4.

It's a long weekend here in the western parts of the far antipodes. Spent much of the week informing our Eastern States clients that we won't be open this Monday, but we will be open the following Monday when they have a long weekend. You wouldn't think it's that hard to understand, but every year they react like we Sandgropers are witches in need of a good burning.

This week I got to sit in a staff meeting and listen to my boss and a few colleagues talk shit about a project I spent months on, as if I wasn't in the room. Then I rode the bus home next to a man who smelled like a backed up urinal.

My wife and I were planning on moving. But the house with the too-good-to-be-true deal? Yeah, that turned out to be a scam. Luckily, we were skeptical and hadn't yet sent any money.

However, my novel is creeping along nicely and today is the first day all year it actually feels like spring here in Oregon, so there's that.

 That's a great episode.

So, FreakAngels decided to grow up and actually DO something, then? If they can fix it now, they could fix it before. I think the question many have to them is: "why vou took so long to fix it?". Of course, by "them" I'm referring to the readers, because in the story no one knows who's responsible for flooding London, except FreakAngels. And, of course, Alice's starting to catch something.

And I wonder: this amount of water can do some pressure, penetrate on cracks in the concrete, and the iron inside many concrete structures may have become rusted. When iron rusts, it expands and break the concrete. When the water level dropped, I think some buildings should have collapsed too. I've saw a documentary once, called "Life After People", from History Channel, that explained that. I don't know if it applies to the story, but almost all London's foundations may have become compromised by all this time under water, and now unusable.

Waiting for next Friday, let's see how it turns out...

Ach if we had to wait at least it was certainly worth it. Amazing. And you know, while I let my eyes linger on the sumptuous images of sky and land and water, where I really take my time is over the 'Angels themselves. I may sound like a broken record in my *hearting* of Connor and Miki but I really love going back again and again over what they're saying and how they're saying it.

For me this has always been a coming of age story as ridiculously powerful people learn the consequences and strengths of responsibility.

Being a homebody today. Very, very late spring cleaning, allergies redlining. Should probably dope myself with antihistamines, but they always make it tough to focus. Ah well. First world problems, you know?

Zerodrop: if the FA's undo what hey did the same way they reversed that shot from Alice's gun before, I am pretty sure they undo it completely, including the damage you mention. BTW: I feel kind of funny when I see that people try to react scientifically on a fantasized "what if" scenario. ;-)

I've just read all the episodes to date, in about 4 hours. I truly thought it was finished before I started. I'm not sure if I'm ecstatic that there's more, or frantic because I have to wait to have it. Absolutely the best time I've had in a long time.

The art is beautiful. I feel quite sad now it's all about healing and therefore drawing to a close.

The whole thing with the cider is quite touchingly nostalgic. Drinking White Lightning or Thunderbird in the park when you're all 14/15 and then not being able to so much as smell cider again until you're old enough to discover the stuff that's actually seen an apple!

Those first hangovers are like no hangover you'll ever suffer again...
