    Usual REMAKE/REMODEL rules apply:

No pen-portraits. This is ART ONLY. Posting just a bunch of text, or a scribble and a vast number of words, will get the thread closed and your account banned.

NO MORE PHOTO-MANIPULATION "art". I'll just delete them. People have been drenching recent threads with several pieces at a time that they've knocked out in photoshop in 2 minutes with no thought at all. I consider this to be taking the piss now.

HOWEVER: I will allow the interpolation of ORIGINAL PHOTOGRAPHS into the work.

No more than ONE submission by any one person in any one REMAKE/REMODEL.

    Now then. Pay attention:

No, seriously. Some hideous legal loophole in Simon & Burns' contract. Your company has the rights to an animated-series spin-off of THE WIRE. This happens. Remember when there was going to be a BUFFY animated series?

And, you know, it only has to bear the most tangential relationship to the show.

OR it could be as close to the show as you want.

It can be any adaptation, re-imagining, re-genre-ing or...whatever the fuck you want, so long as it looks like it came from THE WIRE, right? So long as people can look at it and somehow trace it back to the original series. Anything you want.

Because you're the one who's been tasked with the initial concept designs.

You have one week. Tell your friends.

Time to get more "Wire" smart; this has been on the "Dude, you should see this show" list for far too long. High Speed Assimilation Powers Activate!

I've never watched the Wire before, but it certainly will be fun to watch this all unfold.

    ...I'm intrigued. Really intrigued.

    Also, FUCK.

After this please do a Deadwood: The Animated Series. I'd LOVE to see that.

This was exactly what went through my head when I read the thread title.

I am both terrified and excited. Also, I really want to see The Wire Babies.

A relatively non-mad take to start things off. I figured who seems to work by superhero rules...

I'll probably be sitting this one out owing to the fact I haven't seen a single episode...Unless I pull out a 1980's style saturday morning cartoon that has nothing to do with the source material...Like Rambo the animated series. Damn you, brain.

If I had any talent at all, I'd make a big fat cuddly mash-up of Proposition Joe and that Pokemon character Snorlax.

I'll preface this by saying I am in no way an artist. In fact I'm slightly embarrassed to put up something this low quality in the company of some of the outstanding artists on the board, but the concept stuck in my head and you have to work with what you've got.

So much for ideas marinate...the sketches just flowed so went with the momentum. fun when that happens.
Going for a really stylised look..loose and gritty. Could be done in 2d with cg elements..maybe

    @marioboon - "Wire Babies" FTW!
@mojokingbee - I could very much see that done in the manner of 'Godkiller'. But much better looking.
