For many months now, I have been a mere helper monkey, sorting out seating, doing some heavy lifting and now the monkey gets to play organ grinder, if only for a night...
The plan came together shortly after New York did its Transmet-themed session, and the CBDLF had the Transmet book come out via Kickstarter... I wanted to do a comic-book themed Dr. Sketchy's, but that mutated quickly into a Star Wars themed Dr. Sketchy's!
So, yeah.
(I'm trying to get as much attention and attendance as possible because I plan on using my share of the proceeds to buy a special something for my girlfriend... )
Hopefully some of you managed to make it - we had someone from Dr. Sketchy's in Taipei, a rogue Scotsman filming everything, and I chatted with someone from the Cartoon Arts Museum about possibly making something happen during APE.
So- all you in San Francisco for APE, keep an eye out for a special Dr. Sketchy's on Friday, 1st October...
I'll be cross-posting pics from the Dr. Sketchy's Flickr Group soon.
One of the big plusses here is that we get a wonderful photographer, Johnny Crash, to document the evening. He's uploaded his some 200 pics already HERE. Unfortunately I can't show them 'cos of Copyright protection.
I can show you a couple from the Flickr Group, tho'.
Those look great Tim12s, really digging the color picture. Unfortunately I was sick so I had to sit this one out, definitely planning on coming to more in the future.
@eightser - sorry to hear that - it was certainly one of the quieter events, that might be down to me not being quite the 'Ra Ra' compere I like to think I am, or the crowd were a little more serious - which is good, right!?
So the rogue Scotsman, Mark Day, has edited his footage already (apparently he does it all on long BART rides around the Bay Area) and here's his (SFW) film: Dr. Sketchy's Star Wars Extravaganza
And here's the NSFW version (assuming you work a, I dunno, a library in Arkansas entirely staffed by prudish pro-lifers or something. CONTAINS NEEPLES!)
