It's Friday, It's FREAKANGELS. Not a whole lot to say today that's not going to be drowned out by the screams and/or squeals, so have at that.
Also, I managed to sleep... not correctly... and I can't quite separate out which is shoulder pain and which is elbow pain and which is neck pain -- but I can tell you it's time for me to stop typing for an hour or so while I take a bat to my side. How's everyone else?
YES! Not only is uni pretty much finished for the next month, I've gotten over a crappy headache, there's a new Freakangels! And it's awesome, and there's kissing, and pretty art! And it's awe inspiring. Like usual. I wonder how I crazy I'll get when this is all over...
I'm trying really hard not to scream or squeal here. That last page made me smile. Hell, based on today's epsiode I think I'd quite happily read a weekly strip which consisted soley of Paul's pictures of flooded London.
The water's still apourin' out, the stars are still spinning, Connor's on the verge of getting lucky (yay for quiet thoughtful guys everywhere!!) and the inevitable "things continue to wrap up" feeling steadily increases. Thanks again to Paul and Warren for another Friday FreakAngles fix.
School has been out for about a week here. I took a few days off of work to spend with my young daugher and do "summer vacationy" kind of things before she starts summer camp. I'm back to work today feeling a little sunburned and sleep deprived (what can I say - I'm too old to hang with my six year old daughter at night - she's loving the fact that I agreed to hold "bedtime" in abeyance this week).
And also with school being out I'm finding out that the local pre-teens have developed the annoying habit of ringing my doorbell at 11 pm at night and running off into the dark. I tried just blowing it off at first, but they've been at it about 4 nights in a row at this point. I flipped my lid last night and screamed into the dark that the lot of them should get girlfriends and quit being skulky loosers. I then concieved about a half-dozen nefarious plots which ranged from rigging my doorbell up with razor blades and/or elecrtric shocks to flourescent paint which would allow me to track the buggers back to where they live. After a night of reflection, though, I think I'll take the less aggressive route of disconnecting my doorbell after 9 pm. I fear that the shouting is entertaining to them and is exactly what they're shooting for, and the razor blades/electric shots have too much potential to attract law suits (besides, I was a kid once too). I figure if I remove any chance of entertainment value to them they'll get bored and quit eventually.
So everything is getting normalized, and there'll be a nice happy ending.... Oh wait Warren Ellis is writing this, isn't he. Great art (as usual) Paul, that last panel FTW.
Finally! Connor's such a dope, I love him. I'm grinning, ear to ear, and this that last panel will fuel my happiness through to next week. Another beautiful episode. Thanks Paul and Warren.
Have a great weekend, everyone. I'll be packing... moving in 3 weeks.
I have brought my old computer back from the dead by wiping the harddrive and starting again. I am rather pleased that I have managed to work out how to do it!
christ. now we have to wait a whole week for the NSFW Freak-Sex episode?!? at least we can count on Paul to devote as many pages of exquisite detail to the Connor-Arkady mashup as he has to the repair of London.... right? ;)
Beautiful starry times. Do worry about what the 'Angels are doing to themselves. But glad they've decided to do it thoroughly.
My work week starts today. first off trying to figure out how exactly to handle a traffic ticket. Won't be cheap or easy but it's looking like my best plan may be to drive up to the court and throw myself on whatever mercy I find there. Last ditch desperation that may just result in the same "allowances" I already have of a two month extension. Like that'll make the money some how appear when I'm unemployed and already in debt. Haven't even taken the time to think about what it'll do to my record & insurance.
