A friend said, "Have you mentioned your comic over at Whitechapel yet?" and I said, "nah - it would be bad form to sign up and pimp my comic", and he said, "oh, no, it's cool - they practically encourage it" and here we are. This is how I shift blame for my shameless self-promotion.

All I will say is that if you like your adventure stories light-hearted, your action historical, and your comics colourfully-illustrated, you may very well enjoy Delilah Dirk and the Turkish Lieutenant. That is what it is called, and here is where to find it:

DelilahDirk.com

For the most part, it looks like this:

If you're up for a bit of inside baseball, this started as a 28-page comic (which received an Eisner nomination a couple years back), then another, and then they were both embellished into a 160-page graphic novel. I had started shopping it around to publishers and received some excellent responses, but for a variety of reasons it made more sense to start serializing it online. Thus, DelilahDirk.com.

Enjoy! And if you've got thoughts or criticisms you'd like to share, stick 'em below or hit me up on any of the numerous links at the site!

Brilliant comic! This is going in my regular reading list for sure.

Also, I really like your site design. Emulates the print comic without having to resort to a clunky flash-based implementation.

Thanks, guys! I've got a six-page update coming tomorrow morning. Things are going to really start picking up steam...

@Ben Gwalchmal - hey, thanks for the link! I feel as though I've seen the trailer before, but it must have been in passing or maybe it was before the film was released. I dunno why it didn't stick. I'm looking forward to checking it out. Any idea how "successful" it was?
I've discovered a few projects about historical-type lady-adventurers since starting this -- Pierre Alary's Belladone is the first one that comes to mind -- so I'm trusting the details to help it stand out. Hopefully it's successful!

Thanks, all! If you know someone else who may also enjoy it, or you know someone who can help get the word out, please pass the link along. I'm on a mission to make sure that everyone who might be a potential DD fan knows that it's out there!

@Ben Gwalchmai - I checked it out - it was charming to the extreme, and surprisingly dark considering the lighthearted, Amelie-esque tone. I'm not surprised no one's picked it up for a NA release. IMDB suggests it was, technically, a financial success. Not by a lot, though. Whatever - I enjoyed it. Especially the lead actress. And the effects were generally very good (the mummies, for example).
