    @ Greasemonkey - Good use of "miscreants".

    @DJ - You can be cool and not get beaten up, right? If I can do it, so can you.

    We've never had a problem and WE NEVER WILL. Because we cool, yeah?

    Has anyone emailed me and not received a reply? I've been having problems with my web based mail.

    Haven't been to a Toronto Drink-Up since the WEF days. Man, I'm getting old. Not sure I'd be able to make this one, owing to a terminal case of insolvency, but I'd love to be there.

    @ Diello - YOU DON'T NEED YOUR BOYFRIEND. (*waves hand in a suggestively Jedi way) You'll be happily safe and wonderful in Canada and you'll make it home happily and safe. We've all decided we need more women at these events (I am NOT making this up, even a bit, right, fellas? And ladies?) and you'll have fun. A place will be found for you to crash and it'll all be good. Plus, I've had a crush on you like, forever. it would be an honour to meet you.

    I won't have any spare beds this time around - spare room is still full of construction materials - but there'll be plenty of food and cold Aussie beer, and conversation of the usual sterling Whitechapel standard.

    PS - @Hex, your buddy hasn't called yet :-(

    Fireworks photos from last time, as per request.

    I took the first one - Oldhat took the rest :) I'll have to remember to bring a tripod if we're gonna shoot fireworks again.

    I still have a pretty big bag of them left, so it's a possibility. Management didn't say anything about it last time.

    @Mister Hex
    I want to come up so badly, but getting up there will be the problem. I do want to make it up there sometime before my surgery (2 August) because after that, pretty much all of August will be full of puffy-faced and agonizing recovery (I have a front tooth missing and am finally working toward getting it replaced).
    Also being flat broke doesn't help, but I'll try to gather a few bucks and see if I can find a way up and back...
    I wonder how much a bus from Buffalo to Toronto would be...
  5.  (9948.57)
    @diello I just did a Greyhound from Rochester to Montreal and it wasn't too bad. I imagine Buffalo to Toronto would be pretty reasonable.

    @diello:

    I'll need to ask my roomie (she's gonna be my co-pilot and "no-alan-don't-do-that-it's-dangerous-and-you-don't-know-where-its-been" voice of reason) and see if she's alright with it, BUT: we're gonna be passing through Buffalo on our way there. Might be able to grab you along the way?

    UPDATE: Roommate Rachel says this will not be a problem! She also assures you that we are not a weird Bonnie & Clyde kidnapping duo.

    I'm just sad this isn't all happening this weekend. I actually have money and am still the country. =/

    @diello - don't sweat it too much on the upcoming oral surgery. I've had the same procedure plus about four bone grafts to support the implant. and while recovery is uncomfortable it's not too bad with all the codeine phosphate and such that they feed you afterward. Sedation during the operation helps a lot if it's available, too.
