For those so keen: me and the writer, DENNIS HOPELESS, are sometime guests on the CRANKCAST with Crank and Mike Norton. Dennis was on a week or so ago with KYLE STRAHM and they did a "Dramatic Reading" of the Image press release for LOVESTRUCK.
I've been steadily published since 2007, but thank you. Getting out a massive (for me) book like this is no easy task.
We do pre-press in Photoshop and illustrator, someone at Image Comics (the publisher) will do all the actual book layout/printer pre-press in InDesign or (less likely) Quark.
@Tal - Yeah, I thought I asked the guys at Westfield to fix that. :) I've even done interviews with them and everything. Ah well. Shit happens. I'll have to email them again about it.
Sorry about the mix up! I blame my lack of knowledge on... umm... the Tories?
Anyway, thanks for the information. I'm actually getting ready to submit something to Image so it's heartening to hear than when they pick it up (I've decided to be ridiculouly over-optimistic to make the rejection all the more painful and soul destroying. No, I don't know why) there's someone to take care of all that.
@Gordon - no worries, I more just didn't want you to think I was answering from a place that is inaccurate to where I'm currently at. I don't expect anyone to know anything about me, I just (like anyone with any small measure of experience) don't want to come off as having never been put through the paces unless I've never actually been put through the paces.
Image has been an interesting experience. My only experience with them up until this year was rejection. I attribute that to my having been younger before and less 'ready' and also to the fact that the "regime" (for lack of a better word) is different now than when I was submitting to them in years previous.
That's not to say it's easier to get in at Image, but someone who likes your art is a lot easier to deal with and get things rolling than someone who doesn't like your art.
