    i remember some comic about a decade ago that showed 'cliches of the 70s', one of which was the gene colan up-shot

    now i think of him every time that angle is in anything. this was sad news.

    Sad news; no-one had a loose/flowing line like him, and his females were beautiful.

    Had a lot of Colan's work kicking around my house , big influence and a favorite. He'll be back, when the sun goes down...

    I was never a big fan, but the guy knew how to make comics. Not pretty pictures of posing musclemen and bikini models. Comics. We'll never see his like again.

    Loved his epic run on Tomb of Dracula...was one of those series that I'd consistently hunt the back issue bins for as a kid. I'm glad he's at peace now to be honest, as it seems like his decline was a fairly lengthy one.
