I'm kind of stumbling in my TV viewing right now. White Collar isn't really grabbing me this season. Neither did Falling Skies. And I've missed the first two episodes of Burn Notice.

John, you didn't miss much with Burn Notice. Remarkably, Michael being back with CIA hasn't really changed the show at all...

This weeks' episode of Louie was a nasty and hilarious look at human mating rituals - involving vehicular decapitation, spanking and blueberries. Highly recommended.

I really like what they're doing with White Collar this season. After expecting Neil to just turn in all the stolen art at the premier so they could go back to status quo and continue him on his path to redemption, having the season arc being an extended cat and mouse thing between Neil and Peter, but at the same time bringing him further into the FBI fold is working pretty nicely. And I was pleasantly surprised at the reveal of who stole the art at the end of last season (expecting it to be Neil's dead girlfriend who died off screen so probably isn't really dead).

The US version of Wilfred is hilariously weird. I haven't seen the Australian version, so I can't comment on the differences.

I'm still (almost guiltily) enjoying Covert Affairs. It's a much lighter version of Alias, without any sort of overarching mythology or any real edge, but Piper Perabo is cute as all hell, and the supporting cast is mostly very charming.

I just watched the first two episodes of Falling Skies, or at least the premiere that squished two completely separate stories into a 2-hour time block. I've got to admit to being surprised that reviews were so favorable, because there's nothing there yet. Aliens invaded, we lost, and now...? I don't get any kind of sense that there's anything else, no hint that the story is anything but one of survival. There are several hackneyed sub-plots that need to be burned off, although that's par for the course for a new series. Even ignoring those bits, I'd have to take it completely on faith that this show would be going in a direction worth watching.

I'm not sure if I'll give it more than en episode or two to sort itself out. It's possible it could pull a Fringe, but I'm not sure I'll have the patience.

Just finished all seven seasons of The Shield. I think I need to recovery a bit, and then I move on to whatever I decide is the next item on the list. Oh boy.

Burn Notice is back, and I agree that it's oddly familiar. I wish that there was more of Jesse on the show now.

Anyone watching Wilfred? It's on my tivo but I haven't gotten around to it yet. I hear that the new season of Futurama is hit and miss. But hey, it's Futurama.

Torchwood: Miracle Day has failed, so far, to suck. The 'new pilot' elements of introducing the concept to US audiences didn't rub me up too badly, the pacing is brisk and somehow they managed to get Murray Gold to tone down the bombast in his score for a change. Hoping Bill Pullman gets plenty to do as the putative Bad Guy.

I also note how especially striking Eve Myles' fine Welsh curves look next to all the painfully skinny women in daft shoes...

I wasn't thrilled with the first episode of Burn Notice, but I did like the second episode. It was good to see
Nate back, and hopefully they will keep him around
. Obviously with the preview for next week's episode, Mike will be back with the CIA but my guess is it can't/won't last too long.

The first two episodes of this season's Leverage have been decent.

Wilfred has been hilarious. I love it so far. Only up to episode two on Hulu. I am not sure how far behind they are from regular television.

Speaking of Hulu, I have finally gotten around to watching Misfits since it has started airing on Hulu. It is so great.

Waiting for new episodes of White Collar to pop up on Hulu as well, but so far I like this season.

well, that Torchwood resurrection was pretty ho-hum, wasn't it? i didn't realize it was going to be so... American.
i won't have access to a teevee for the rest of the series. but, hopefully the jokes/plots/newcharacters were weak just because there's a lot of introductory stuff that needs to be laid down first.

@Cat Vincent, yeah, maybe Bill Pullman can make something watchable of it. they seem to feature him pretty strongly, according to the previews. but that ain't gonna make it any more Torchwood.

I just finished watching the entirety of leverage and I have to say that the element of fun in this show is pretty awesome. Though it looks like we're seeing a burn notice type arc this season as well instead of what they pulled last year.

Welcome to the world of Leverage! Each episode is heavily annotated at John Rogers' blog Kung Fu Monkey.
(If you go back far enough, there's also a whole bunch of stuff about the 'lost' Global Frequency pilot...)

So I'm watching Alphas, this is the new show by one of the 4400 creators and it's pretty cool so far. It totally has that X-Men type of vibe but the powers and their side effects are what really make the show different from other like minded shows. The characters are pretty likeable so far, though the autistic kid kinda got on my nerves but whatever.

So yeah, another fun show from syfy.

There was a decent programme about Scottish comic creators on BBC2 Scotland last night. It's on iPlayer but won't be for long.

Sorry if it's been mentioned. It has we interviews with Grant Morrison, Mark Millar and the like.

    New Eureka too.

I would really strongly recommend not watching past the first season of Misfits.
