    I can't remember who said it, or where I read it, but the best thing for me about crime fiction is the way it scratches underneath the veneer of civilisation we tend to wear - exposing the bits of ourselves we usually hide from others.

    Dan Shaper sounds like my kind of fucked up 'tec.

    Really enjoyed the grimy, psychedelic feel of this, and while I guessed a fair amount of what was going to happen, it didn't stop it kicking any less hard when it did. I best avoid spoilerising by saying ...

    I would love to read more about Vince, Dan and Canton. Excellent characters, all.
